PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos Islands; Friday, November 16th, 2012 -
Air Turks & Caicos, the national flag carrier of the Turks &
Caicos Islands, is proud to announce flights into Santo Domingo,
starting December 14th, 2012.
The capital and largest city in the Dominican Republic (DR), Santo
Domingo is a vibrant urban center that embodies elements central to the
Dominican experience: a living museum, a modern metropolis crossed with
elegant seaside resorts, high end shopping malls and a business,
political and media center with a laid-back casual spirit that is rich
with the sounds of merengue and bachata from corner colmados.
Air Turks and Caicos Chairman Mr. Lyndon Gardiner said the new route is
being introduced to satisfy a growing customer demand for direct
services between the Turks and Caicos and the Dominican capital. ?It
also opens up the TCI tourism market to easier connections from Europe,
South, and Central America - as the Dominican Republic is already a
popular vacation spot well known to these travelers with many daily
flights from these destinations.?
?This announcement reaffirms our 20 year commitment to serving our
passengers needs, a commitment we?ve significantly grown over the years.
Today, Air Turks and Caicos proudly provide customers from our network
with access to more destinations than any other airline based in the
region,? Mr. Gardiner added.
Commencing December 14th, the one hour fifteen minutes flight will
operate four times weekly?Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday - using
the company?s fleet of 30 passenger Embraer Brasilia E120s. These
aircraft offers comfortable seating, lavatory, galley and friendly
flight attendant service. With connection services to The Bahamas,
Jamaica and Haiti, the Santo Domingo route allows passengers to travel
with ease on Air Turks and Caicos for their entire journey.
To introduce the new route, Air Turks & Caicos has on offer a special fare - $150 each way (plus taxes).
Launched just in time for the holiday season, shoppers can take
advantages of the generous exchange rate and multiple shopping choices
Santo Domingo offers, with new malls ranging from moderate to super
high-end featuring name brand retailers such as Louis Vuitton, Apple,
Hilfiger, Zara, Diesel and more.
With world class restaurants, hotels and nightlife as well, Santo
Domingo will easily become your favorite Air Turks and Caicos
destination.
