Jamaica Increases Passenger Departure Tax by $20 (US)

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos Islands; Tuesday, August, 14^th, 2012 – Passengers traveling out of Jamaica are expected to pay a US$20.00 levy on their tickets.

The Airline Passenger Levy of US$20 per passenger takes effect tomorrow, Wednesday, August 15^th for tickets purchased on or after the 15^th day of August, 2012 for passengers travelling out of Kingston, Jamaica. Only infants are exempt from this tax.

As the national flag carrier of the Turks & Caicos Islands, Air Turks & Caicos would like to inform its customers that this increase is due to a ‘Revised Tax Measures For Jamaica’s Tourism Industry’ and not an increase in airfare by the carrier.
