New York (USA) – Washanda Registre, the 2012 TCI Top Model is in New York this week to meet with Wilhelmina Model Management – the agency that spotted her international star-making potential at the recently held TCI Top Model Contest. Requested by the agency to the fashion capital of America, Washanda will be there for a week to meet with the various boards and divisions at Wilhelmina; that, along with having scheduled appointments with potential clients, casting directors and photo shoots to promote her career as a Wilhelmina Model.
With her Amazonian look, smooth cocoa skin tone, lithe physique and fabulous personality, the bubbly 5’10” local beauty who captured ‘Industry Readiness’, ‘Best Body’ and strutted off with ‘Fashion Forward’ awards at the 2012 TCI Top Contest will now have the opportunity secure modeling contracts. “I was am so happy for this opportunity to travel to NYC, meet with Wilhelmina Models, and hopefully sign with them. This is my dream come true, and I’m living it eyes wide open and in living colour. This is truly an amazing experience, one which I will embrace and work my hardest at seeing that I am the success that I, and everyone know that I can be,” said Washanda.
Accompanying the TCI Top Model to New York is Charmaine Clarke, her chaperone and Courtney Robinson, TCI Top Model’s Executive Producer. “New York is the epicenter of high fashion, editorial and commercial modeling; any model starting their career there will have many doors open to Fashion Avenue and the world of fashion,” said Robinson. “The potential to be signed and represented by one of the World’s leading agencies is enormous and Washanda is going to be exposed to the best in the business and an opportunity that will spring board her career not only in the New York market, but also London, Paris, Milan and as far away as South Africa or Japan.”
Since winning the TCI Top Model Contest on May 12, the 16-year-old recent Clement Howell High School graduate has been busying herself. She has since appeared on the cover and in an editorial spread for the 2012 Times of the Islands Summer edition, did a photo shoot for Destination: Turks & Caicos 2013 and Discover – Turks & Caicos Island 2013 magazine. What is more, the Digicel TCI Brand Ambassador she has also done four advertising campaigns for the number-one telecoms company, most recently their ‘Roam in the USA ads,” which features her in New York. To this end, The TCI Top Model Contest & Fashion Extravaganza Committee, its partners, supporters and Digicel TCI wish Washanda Registre continued success on her path to becoming an international Top Model in the fast-paced world of beauty and fashion.
