Elbow Reef Lighthouse 150th Birthday Celebration (1864-2014)

Hope Town, ABACO, The Bahamas -  Elbow Reef Lighthouse has just turned 150 years old, and is the last manually-operated kerosene light fueled left in the world.


The Lighthouse Society organized an anniversary event on June 24th, 2014 in commemoration featuring education talks, tour and exhibits; an art exhibition and art contest for children;  a drink contest for the adults; and much more.  The event which drew close to one thousand was under the theme “150 Years of Keeping The Light On.”
