Nassau, Bahamas - The 7th annual Bahamas International Film Festival was instrumental in screening many Bahamian films in December, one of which was Crazy Love directed by Clarence Rolle and with cinematography by Craig Lenihan (Vision Pictures).
Theatre
One at Galleria Cinemas was filled with roaring laughter on December 5th
when the romantic comedy,
Crazy Love, made its debut at BIFF.
The
feature film was screened to a full house of film buffs. Through laughter,
applause and direct praise, the film was overwhelmingly enjoyed by its
audience. "Due to the support and continuing demand for the movie,
it will be screened again in February, 2011," said Rolle, who also directed
the film and wrote its screenplay.
The
next screenings will be dedicated to friends and family of the cast
and crew who died just before its premiere – Latondra McIntosh and
Inspector Archie Miller.
“When
we are faced with tragedy, it puts everything in perspective,” said
Rolle while announcing the February screenings to the Galleria crowd.
“It makes us remember why we do this (make films) – to provide an
escape, to allow everyone to get away from the realities of life for
just a while and enjoy stories, to keep us in touch with our humanity.”
Lenihan,
who also worked on the film as director of photography, said a written acknowledgment will be included in the final cut of the movie in honor
of Ms. McIntosh and Mr. Miller.
Crazy Love features an all-Bahamian
cast that includes Leslie Ellis-Tynes (
Summer
Madness 2010),
Gene Cage (
Fresh), Dana J. Ferguson (
The Tempest), Christine
Wilson (
Children of God) and Matthew Wildgoose (
A Midsummer
Night’s Dream).
Crazy Love is about three couples struggling over the realities and delusions of love and romance.
