Freeport, Grand Bahama - At about 1:15pm on Sunday 9th December 2012,Mr Edward Deveaux of Holmes Rock was returning home from a fishing trip off West End, driving his Dodge Ram truck with his Boston Whaler boat hitched on a trailer, travelling east along Queens Highway in Deadmans Reef, when the left wheel on the trailer broke off, dropping the boat down onto the tarmac.

Shortly afterwards, Mr Joseph " Lil Joe" Cartwright came upon the scene in his truck, where he saw Mr Deveaux struggling with the broken down boat trailer, while parked in the eastbound lane of the highway, in a very dangerous position, as this is an isolated section of roadway where many drivers travel at very fast speeds.
Mr Cartwright parked his truck a safe distance behind Mr Deveaux's vehicle and trailer, to create a buffer between the trailer and the speeding drivers, then assisted Mr Deveaux in placing the wheel back onto the trailer, thereby allowing the Mr Deveaux to continue on his journey.

This goodwill gesture on the part of Mr Cartwright, has earned him the award as " Most Courteous Driver of the Quarter-December 2012".

Mr Cartwright received a mahogany inscribed plaque, along with a gift certificate for a full tank of gasoline.
