At about 9:30pm on Wednesday 6th June 2012, Detective Sergeant Charles Johnson was driving his Ford Explorer SUV east along Goombay Drive in Freeport, accompanied by two small children, when, due to a malfunctioning fuel gauge, his vehicle ran out of fuel, leaving him and the children stranded at the roadside.

Shortly afterwards, another motorist: security officer Bernard ' Spinks ' Rolle, upon seeing D/Sgt Johnson in distress, stopped to render assistance.

He went and obtained a container of gasoline, then returned to the scene and was able to get D/Sgt Johnson's vehicle restarted, who then continued on his journey.

As a result of this notable display of charity, Mr Rolle was nominated as ' the Most Courteous Driver of The Quarter for June 2012'.
