BAIC to celebrate Its 40th Anniversary with a Week of Activities

Nassau, The Bahamas - The Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation (BAIC) is celebrating its 40th Anniversary under the theme, “Celebrating Years of Entrepreneurial Advancement, Empowerment and Growth”, during the week beginning Sunday, March 21 to Saturday, March 27, 2021.
During the week of observances and activities, the Corporation will engage in Radio and Television shows and interviews to inform the public of the plans for the future development of the Corporation, BAIC Chairman, Bishop Gregory Collie explained during a press conference at the Corporation, Wednesday, March 17, 2021.
“The Corporate Communications Department is preparing a 12-page newspaper supplement to tell the history of the Corporation and to increase public awareness of its products and services.”
The Chairman said the Corporation will promote the businesses of its clients and tenants who are leasing land and buildings in the Industrial Parks in New Providence and the Family Islands, and underscore the vital role the Corporation plays in assisting entrepreneurs with business plans, business coaching and other advice.
“We will showcase the products and services of artisans and artists, many of whom have received handicraft training at BAIC in workshops for straw craft, coconut shell craft, conch shell carving, wood carving, soap making and food processing workshops.
The Chairman said, “Twenty of these handicraft persons will be featured in a Mega Market right here on the grounds of BAIC from Thursday, March 25 to Saturday, March 27, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The public is invited to come out and support our artists and artisans.”
Other events and observances include: church service Sunday, March 21, Newspaper Supplement March 22, an entrepreneurial summit Wednesday, March 24 and a staff appreciation day Friday, March 26.
