By The National Covid-19 Vaccine Consultative Committee
Jul 15, 2021 - 2:11:52 PM

The administration of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine will be limited to second doses until additional doses of the vaccine are received in-country.

The administration of first doses will resume once additional vaccination supplies have been received.

The Bahamas is scheduled to receive 33,600 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine before the end of July, through the COVAX Facility.

The Bahamas has also been informed that additional vaccines will be made available in the third quarter of 2021, through a donation from the United States, via CARPHA (Caribbean Public Health Agency), and through the COVAX Facility.

The administration of second doses continues at the Loyola Hall COVID-19 Vaccination Centre on Gladstone Road by appointment only. Regrettably, walk-up appointments cannot be accommodated at this time.

Regular updates on the national COVID-19 vaccination program will continue to be provided by the Ministry of Health and the National COVID-19 Vaccine Consultative Committee. For more information on the vaccine please visit www.opm.gov.bs/vaccine.
