'We Are One' Campaign Gives Back

Nassau, The Bahamas - Ministry of National Security Acting Permanent Secretary and Under Secretary Cheryl Darville joined the National Neighbourhood Watch Council (NNWC) and corporate sponsors in announcing the winners of prizes for contests that were a part of the "We Are One" Campaign, during an event at the Ministry's Head Office, on January 8, 2021. There were also presentations of monetary donations to two families whose children were murdered last year. Speaking at the event were NNWC National Coordinator Supt. Wilton Johnson; NNWC Co-Chair Keno Wong; President of the Ridgeland Park Community Association and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the NNWC / South Central "We Are One" Campaign Shelly Lewis; and Stapledon Gardens President Lakell Johnson.

Ethan Munnings represented Proficient Business Services, Ltd., the sponsor that provided the Stapledon Gardens Community Association with the first-place prize of $1000; while Dwight Grant represented ICS of The Bahamas Company, Ltd., the sponsor that provided the Jubilee Gardens Community Association with the second-place prize of $500.
Keshlia Lockhart represented the Center for Early Education, the sponsor that provided the monetary donations for the families, and was in attendance, as Lakell Johnson presented donations to Quitell Whyms, on behalf of her mother,Tiffany Reckley, whose daughter Alicia Sawyer and grandchild eight-year-old Ednique Wallace were killed. Ms. Lockhart also joined Stapledon Gardens Vice President and Co-Chair for Sponsorship of the "We Are One" Campaign Jouette Smith in presenting donations to Vallance Thompson, father of seven-year-old murder victim Reyes Thompson.
