Hot on the heels of an unprecedented 10-show run on Broadway, and the release of their latest critically acclaimed studio album – RED CARPET MASSACRE (Epic Records) - musical innovators Duran Duran today announced details of a 22 date North American tour that will begin in Vancouver, Canada on April 29th and end in New York with two spectacular concerts at Central Park’s Summerstage, as well as an Atlantis, Paradise Island performance (May 24).
The upcoming shows will mark the band’s second stint in the US since the release of their twelfth studio album, the first being a Broadway residency at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre that heralded the record’s release in mid-November. In a bold move, Duran Duran performed RED CARPET MASSACRE in its entirety to sold-out houses every night for two weeks on The Great White Way, prior to the album’s global launch. Encouraged by the enthusiastic response from fans and critics alike, the band are now taking a tailored version of this three-act show on the road around the world, starting in New Zealand, where they will kick off the tour at the end of this month.
