NEWS ITEM ON TROPICAL STORM ELSA ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION, AT 12 PM WEDNESDAY 07TH JULY 2021.
...CENTER OF ELSA MAKING LANDFALL IN TAYLOR COUNTY ALONG THE
NORTH FLORIDA GULF COAST...
AT 11 AM EDT, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM ELSAWAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 29.9°NORTHAND LONGITUDE 83.6° WEST OR ABOUT 65 MILES NORTH-NORTHWEST OF CEDAR KEY FLORIDA OR ABOUT 115 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA.
ELSA IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH AT 14 MILES PER HOUR, and a generally northward motion is expected to continue through this afternoon. A turn toward the north-northeast is expected late this afternoon or tonight, followed by a faster northeastward motion by late Thursday.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 65 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS.
