RBPF Grand Bahama: Firearm and ammunition arrests

Illegal firearm and ammunition discovered in Grand Bahama
on two separate incidents, two males are in custody.
Freeport, Grand Bahama - In the first incident on Thursday 24th October 2019 shortly after 3:00pm, officers of the Special Patrol Unit, while on mobile patrol, observed two males acting suspicious who ran on seeing the officers. The officers gave chase and observed on of the male discard an item that later was discovered to be an illegal firearm. He was apprehended and the illegal firearm recovered which was a 9mm pistol with a magazine containing (2) rounds of ammunition. Two males both from Grand Bahama were arrested and taken into police custody.
In the second incident, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on information, proceeded to the Coral Road area, near bushes, where they discovered hidden under a mattress, an assortment of ammunition. (45) rounds of .32 ammunition, (17) rounds of .40 ammunition and (26) rounds of .45 ammunition.
No arrest was made in this matter.
