EARTHCARE was invited to present to young minds attending Coach Nathan O’Connor’s Tennis Camp. Campers enjoyed an interactive presentation on Bahamas Environmental issues with a concentration on Coastal Awareness.

An active Trivia contest ensued immediately after the presentation. All campers received prizes for their correct answers.  Leopole Wright tied with his brother for the Grand Prize but won on the tie breaker.

Gail Woon, EARTHCARE representative was especially pleased to be able to have time with the campers. “Summer time is very slow for us because the schools are on break. We are happy to be asked by Coach Nathan to make presentations to his summer campers.”

Topics presented this summer included:- Healthy Reefs vs. Unhealthy Reefs, Sea Level Rise, Various Fishing Methods, Coastal Habitat Destruction, Mangrove Destruction, Dredging without Environmental Impact Assessment, Industrial Mining, , Endangered Sea and Shore Birds, Invasive Species, Environmental Remediation, and Kids Who make a Difference.

It was a great experience and EARTHCARE would be pleased if Coach invites us back next summer. The Tennis Camp continues through to the end of August in time for school to start. If you still need something constructive for your child to do this summer contact Coach Nathan at the Grand Bahama Tennis & Squash Club.
