Brown captures "Environment' title at Miss Progress International

Nassau, Bahamas - 09/24/2010- The Miss Bahamas Beauty Organization is please to announce that Miss Bahamas Progress -  Lakendis Brown has captured the title Miss Progress of the Environment while competing at the Miss Progress International Pageant in Bari Italy. Ms. Brown crowned Miss Bahamas Progress in August of this year, also won the best costume award at MPI. She brings home a purse prize of up to US$30,000 to assist in implementing her environmental platform in the Bahamas. During her presentation to the panel of judges, Miss Brown focused on Coastal Awareness and Marine Life in the Bahamas. The presentation and judges interview received 75% of the total score given by judge's.

Miss Progress International is a perfect mix as a classical beauty contest with an event that can transmit important social contents in a "light" form, ideal for catching the attention of the entire planet, as stated by Giuseppe Borrillo from the MPI. 

In speaking with Ms. Brown moments after her victory, she expressed her delight in having promoted the Bahamas in the European market. She pledges her continued best in making both the Miss Bahamas Beauty  and Miss Progress International Organizations proud as she serves as both their beauty and environmental ambassador and thanked Mr. Royce Huyler and associated sponsors for their support, stated MBBO president Ms. Gaynell Rolle "We are so proud of her, the best is yet to come for Lakendes".

The Miss Bahamas Beauty Organization having been in existence for the pass eight years also crowned the 2010 Miss Bahamas Earth and Miss Bahamas international and produces the Miss Teen Bahamas and Little Miss Bahamas Pageants annually.
