CALL FOR FILMS - The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) is heading to Grand Bahama and will feature Bahamian-made films at FLIFF On-Location: Grand Bahama Island.

FLIFF, now in its 26th year, is scheduled to be held October 22 to November 11.FLIFF On-Location: Grand Bahama Island will be held October 27 to 30. This offshoot event is the brainchild of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation, and the Grand Bahama Tourism Board in conjunction with the organizers of FLIFF. The idea was sparked following the premiere of a sequel (Beneath the Blue) that was, along with its original, shot on the island, featured at FLIFF in 2009.

Filmmakers, journalists and film enthusiasts are expected to attend the FLIFF On-Location event, which will include an opening night gala, a wrap up party, 13 films, a Bahamian film segment, a high school video competition and awards presentations.

Organizers have sent out a call for films and are eager to receive Bahamian films, according to Ministry of Tourism officials. Information on FLIFF and film submissions can be obtained at www.fliff.com.
