Nassau, Bahamas - At approximately 9:00 pm on Monday, January 14, incorrect news reports circulated stating that a fire had erupted at the New Providence Ecology Park (NPEP). These reports are false; there was no fire at NPEP. The blaze is isolated to Larry's scrap metal yard, located opposite a portion of NPEP's facilities.
The Royal Bahamas Police Force Fire Services Department quickly responded to contain and control the fire.
NPEP will continue to monitor the situation and assist where necessary.
