Our Mission:
The Harvest Foundation is a non-profit Christian organization moved by the love and compassion of Jesus Christ to see the hungry fed, the hurting comforted, the uneducated taught and the poor profit.
It looks to break the cycle of poverty of both body and soul.
Christian Community Center Update:
The center is currently housed at the Good Shepherd Church in Lewis Yard (Grand Bahama Island) and is receiving 40 participants on a daily basis.
From 10am-3pm the adult participants are sewing table linens, learning computer skills, working with professional carpenters, acquiring parenting skills and cooking for 50 participants and volunteers.
We are in need of your help.
If you or anyone you know can teach a skill, craft or trade, please contact Jan Lowe at Harvest Foundation to volunteer today!
Lewis Yard Primary School Literacy Program:
There is a teachers’ workshop at Lewis Yard Primary School scheduled for April 7.
On April 28 & 29, eight teachers from Lewis Yard Primary School will observe what they have learned in the classrooms at a Tampa, Florida school of the Hillsborough County School District.
Then a follow-up workshop is scheduled for May 26 again at Lewis Yard.
To enhance the literacy program, volunteers are being organized to revamp the school library.
