Nassau, Bahamas - Following the very successful Scotiabank
National High School Track and Field Championships, the Bahamas Association
of Athletic Associations is happy to announce today that BTC
has been named Title Partner of the 2011 Carifta Team Bahamas.
This partnership
also entails Friday and Saturday’s Carifta Trials being named the
BTC 2011 Carifta Trials.
Some of the benefits that BTC will
accrue include but not limited to the following:
1. BTC may provide products and
market services with collateral materials to patrons at the Trials and
Games, where permissible.
2. BAAA Friends of Carifta: BTC
will have the right to sponsor the travel Tee Shirts worn by the athletes,
coaches, and officials traveling with the Bahamas Carifta Games Team
to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

We thank the media for their assistance
in heightening the public’s awareness of and appreciation for Track
and Field.
The BTC Carifta Trials is expected
to be quite exciting and competitive. The BAAA has

From the information emanating out
of Jamaica, our Carifta host, it is understood that they will let
“No Gold Medal Leave”, meaning that Jamaica will win every gold
medal, with total domination of the event. With this in mind we are
encouraging the Bahamian public to support the team by traveling to
the Games over the Easter weekend. Packages are still available.
We are also encouraging persons involved in Junkanoo
groups to join the “Carifta Congos” who bring a special flare to
the Games in their support of Team Bahamas.
The BAAA will provide a number of
prizes for fans, and on Saturday will raffle two round trip tickets
to Montego Bay for the Games.
Once again, we are delighted that
BTC has come on board for Carifta 2011 and thank the Ministry of Youth,
Sports, & Culture for their continual support.
