NASSAU, The Bahamas -- The Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the IAAF Relays Bahamas  2014 held its final press conference at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture on Thursday, May 22, to update the public on the role of the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas (ZNS) as its local broadcaster.

Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Dr. Daniel Johnson said the relays will be viewed in countries that are represented and also some that may not have representation.

“The world will be watching The Bahamas during the relays and we have to keep its attention,” the Minister said.

“New ground is being broken and new milestone’s being set,” said ZNS executive chairman Rev. Dr. William Thompson. “As ZNS becomes the first Bahamian broadcaster to televise the IAAF’s inaugural World Relays, a level one track event here in the Bahamas, it represents the single largest sports project ZNS has participated in at this level to-date.”

The BCB chairman expressed pleasure in advising that in excess of 60 ZNS personnel are actively involved in the project, some of whom are assigned to work directly with the host broadcaster International Sports Broadcasting (ISB) and the IAAF event presentation team "where we expect long term transfers of knowledge and skills."
