The University of The Bahamas, North, announced February 4, 2022 that the university has received a grant of $500,000 from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as part of a Technical Cooperation Agreement intended to create a Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Grand Bahama.  The announcement was made during a press conference at the Grand Lucayan.

Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, the Hon. Mario Bowleg told junkanoo leaders in Grand Bahama that at the end of the day, Grand Bahama needs to establish its own Junkanoo committee, in order to advance its culture in that city.

PAHO is working with the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Department of Environmental Planning and Protection to implement a project: “Strengthening Climate Resilient Health Systems in The Bahamas”. The expected product is the completion of the health chapter of the National Adaptation Plan (HNAP). It is part of a larger regional project - EU/ CARIFORUM Climate Change and Health Project, of which the country is a beneficiary.
