Inspired by her own generation, Seven Crash is a fashion line that crosses over classic and edgy, urban and fresh. An amazing imaginative print collection introduced to me by Taipei fashion designer Enchi Shen at Vancouver Fashion Week.

On the runway was her Resort 2016 collection, which encompasses unique patterns and a lively flower design to celebrate the beginning of a New Year.

“My spring collection is all about the electronic generation,” says Enchi Shen. Using electric charged colors on a palate of black and white, she incorporates cultural street style – past and future - into each collection...

Nassau, Bahamas - With a desire to bring awareness to women and families that have lost loved ones to cancer, and to support those that are still in the fight, young Bahamian stylist, Shannon Collie  will be hosting a charity fashion show with the Cancer Society of The Bahamas called "Fashion Beats Cancer" on November 14th, 2015 at Mario's Bowling and Entertainment Palace at 7pm.

Collie, a recent graduate of the JSSA Fashion Styling course said he's lost two family members to cancer in the past two years. "This disease has opened the eyes of my  family and friends," he said...

Nassau, Bahamas - Under the theme, "Let it Snow in the Islands," Bahamian designer Cardell McClam will showcase his  Fall/Winter 016 Collection on November 15th at the Dundas Centre for the Performing Arts.

Fashionistas can expect to see the latest Cardell McClam jackets, blazers, cocktail dresses, gowns suits, blouses and skirts in jewel tones. sparkling blue, dark knight, platinum and plumberry. In total there will be 25 looks for males and females.
 
McClam said he's taken a minimalistic prospective for this collection. "It is monochromatic. In a world that is fast pace, it is great to have silence..."

Nassau, Bahamas - The first annual Xzotica will feature the best of male models from The Bahamas on Sunday, March 22nd at Sur Club Sushi Bar & Grill. The all male men's review will feature fashions from Lux Men's Warehouse.

The event is organized by Supermodel of the Bahamas founder, Oilinsha Coakley, who's put the event together together to further support and enhance the Bahamas' male fashion model scene. "I've called the show Xzotica which was inspired by the exotic look Bahamians possess," said Coakley.

"We have some amazing male models in The Bahamas. I encourage everyone to come out and see them on the runway...

Vancouver Fashion Week opened on March 16th to showcase the Fall Winter 2015 season, and over 50 models hit the runway during the gala opening event held at the Queen Elizabeth Plaza, as the audience got a sneak peek on what the next 6 days will have in store.

VFW has grown over the years, and is now in its 25th season. It's been a pinnacle event for emerging designers, not only in Canada but for designers around the world.

Nassau, Bahamas - Fashion For A Cause will bring together designers, clothing stores, stylists, makeup and hairstylists, and all fashion forward brands for one 'CAUSE', for one night of Fashion.  Featuring a new venue - the Ibiza nightclub, Fashion For A Cause (FFC) will be held on March 29th with a cocktail hour starting at 3:30pm featuring entertainment by Canadian Idol runner up Gary Beals.

The street wear focused 2015 spring / summer show will give designers the opportunity to display a 12 - 15 piece collection and through the ongoing partnership with The Bahamas AIDS Foundation, signature pieces from previous Red Dress Soiree events will also hit the runway.

Vancouver Fashion Week takes place in west coast Canada from March 16th through 22nd at Queen Elizabeth Plaza. The seven day event will feature Fall/Winter 2015 collections from Canadian and international designers.

Canadian designer Connally McDougall, a VFW favourite will be returning for a third season. Her line encompasses ready-to-wear couture as well as accessories, active and intimate apparel. Each design is produced by hand using traditional atelier techniques, luxury fabrics and with the utmost attention to quality.

Javotte House of Couture and Events of a Lifetime put on an inspiring event  to honour 10 distinguished Bahamian women at the Melia ballroom.  The red carpet entrance with a step-and-repeat backdrop transported those arriving to what could have been the New York or Paris fashion scene as photos were snapped for posterity.

Supporters from all sectors of Bahamian society were out in their fashion finest. The theme of the inaugural evening was celebrating the Legacy of Bahamian women, which carried throughout the entire fashion show that followed. The voice of radio personality, Stacy Marshall led audience through the various transitions of the evening. Special tribute was given to the ten female honourees...

Freeport, The Bahamas - On November 28th, Grand Bahama Island held the Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival launch at Port Lucaya Count Basie Square. The Grand Bahama Junkanoo Carnival Company unveiled its eight prototype costumes and two signature pieces under its 'The Grand Life' theme in runway fashion on the stage.

The Hardour Collection, owned and operated by Anthea Bullard was one of the costume designers.

"I was invited to work with the Immerse Bahamas Team to bring a couture designer's touch to the Bahamas carnival costumes for Grand Bahama," said Bullard.  The theme, "The Grand Life" is what Hardour Collection embodies so I was compelled to get involved...
