The Organization of American States (OAS) and the ProFuturo Foundation signed an agreement today to promote digital education in a hundred schools in five member countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM): The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Guyana and Jamaica.

The initiative will be carried out through the Educational Portal of the Americas of the Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI) and the Inter-American Telecommunications Commission (CITEL) of the OAS, and its platform will reach 1,132 teachers and 23,026 students...

The General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (GS/OAS) calls on the competent authorities of the hemisphere to ignore all attempted acts by the illegitimate supreme court of justice operating in Caracas under the dictatorial regime, and in particular to dismiss extradition requests made by this body as contrary to the law.

The Organization of American States (OAS) today condemned the acts of violence in Nicaragua, called on all parts to participate “actively and in good faith” in the National Dialogue and urged the Government “to support an electoral calendar,” in a resolution approved by the Permanent Council with 21 votes in favor.

The resolution specifically condemns “the attacks on clergy, the harassment of Roman Catholic bishops engaged in the National Dialogue process, the acts of violence at the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua (UNAN), the headquarters of CARITAS, and other peaceful protesters.”
