BROOKLYN, New York - The United States Virgin Islands (USVI) is supporting the culture of the Caribbean this weekend by participating in the West Indian American Day Carnival Association's Labor Day celebrations on Brooklyn's Eastern Parkway.  

The US Virgin Islands Department of Tourism will give away specially branded items at its booth between Bedford and Rogers avenues on Monday, September 2 as millions of revelers and spectators assemble in Brooklyn for the 46th anniversary of Carnival.

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos Islands – Contestants for The Body Show were revealed last week. In front of a capacity crowd that was live, the five women and five men who will compete in this summer’s most hotly anticipated spectacular competitions Miss Body Beautiful and Mr Best Body – gave attendees much more than they bargained for.

The reveal took place at Island Fish Fry on Thursday, June 27th - which is held at The Bight (Children’s) Park on Lower Bight Road in Provo. The event, a cultural explosion - plays host to over a dozen local food vendors, where local entertainers and cultural acts come together for an evening of “all things Turks & Caicos.”

 In addition to that, it was the contestants of The Body Show that made the greatest impact when they hit the stage with their amazing physiques, fabulous personalities and showmanship, wowing the crowd and leaving everyone wanting more...

NEW YORK, NY - U.S. and Chinese investors are being urged to "open their wallets" to investment opportunities in the Turks & Caicos Islands.

The call to action came from the Premier of the Turks & Caicos Islands, Dr. Rufus Ewing and his finance minister, C. Washington Misick, at the 2013 Avalon Invest Caribbean Now forum held in New York City on June 5, 2013.

Attorney General loses Emerald Cay stamp duty recovery case at Privy Council - Mar 18, 2013 - 4:23:28 PM

Prominent Turks and Caicos Islands Queen’s Counsel Ariel Misick secured a stunning victory at the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council (JCPC) on Wednesday March 14th, 2013, when British law Lords dismissed an appeal that was brought by Attorney General Huw Shepheard, the Civil Recovery Unit and the Registrar of Lands over the recovery of unpaid stamp duty and penalties in relation to sale of the private island of Emerald Cay.

In the case which was heard before Lord Hope, Lord Kerr, Lord Reed, Lord Carnwath and Sir John Chadwick who delivered the judgment, the Privy Council found that the Registrar of Lands operated outside of the law in dealing with the stamp duty issue surrounding Emerald Cay, once owned by American billionaire Tim Blixseth...

TCI News: Judge rejects SIPT bid to withhold Piper's passport and prevent him from traveling to Brazil - Jan 31, 2013 - 12:56:26 PM

A high court judge in Turks and Caicos Islands on Wednesday rejected an application by special prosecutors and investigators to prevent a former Cabinet minister from traveling to Brazil to visit former Premier Michael Misick in jail for his birthday.

Madame Justice Margaret Ramsay-Hale said she saw no reason for the Special Investigation and Prosecution Team (SIPT) to withhold the passport of McAllister 'Piper' Hanchell, who will be traveling with a group from the Turks and Caicos Islands this weekend to visit Misick who turns 47 on February 2nd, and who is jail awaiting extradition to the TCI.
