The Organization of American States (OAS), the Mexican National Science and Technology Council (CONACYT) and the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) signed today at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC, an agreement to provide scholarship opportunities to 600 citizens of the Americas for master's or doctoral studies in science and engineering in Mexico, of which 100 will be earmarked for students from Central America and the Caribbean.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - When Drew Palacious was named winner of the inaugural Manhunt Bahamas in 2012 he opened a doorway to inspire other Bahamian young males to enter. After earning the right to represent his country, he traveled to Bangkok, Thailand to compete in Manhunt International 2012 where he was proudly awarded the title of "Mister Personality" among more than 50 contestants.  Drew got The Bahamas noticed! Several of the international pageant sites had him picked as a favourite to win. He made The Bahamas proud.

Shortly after, Manhunt Bahamas' 1st runner-up, Pedro Mejias also traveled to Bangkok, Thailand to compete in the Mister International contest where 71 countries competed.

The Embassy of Japan is pleased to announce that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
(MEXT) has continued to offer the Research (Graduate) Scholarship to Bahamians for the academic year 2014 which is tenable only in Japan. The scholarships cover tuition fees, flights to and from Japan and provide a monthly allowance.

Japanese language ability is highly valued at the selection stage although it is not a requirement. Successful applicants must be willing to study the Japanese language before and after arriving in Japan.  

Examinations and interviews will be conducted in The Bahamas in June, 2013...
