Charlottetown, CANADA – Young Bahamians interested in working in theatre, dance, or music now have the opportunity to pursue their training at Holland College, Prince Edward Island, through a unique scholarship program for Bahamian students at the college’s School of Performing Arts, Holland College vice president Michael O’Grady announced recently.

Holland College has one of the largest Bahamian student populations of any institution in Canada, O’Grady said.

Nassau, Bahamas – School children across The Bahamas have only a few days to take advantage ofa once in a lifetime opportunity to design the official International Association and Athletics Federation (IAAF) World Relays Bahamas 2014, mascot. With an impressive number of entries being submitted from all across The Bahamas, a final surge is expected in the final week of the competition.

The Cultural Center of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has launched a call for proposals addressed to arts and cultural institutions of the civil society to fund cultural development projects in Latin America and the Caribbean through its Cultural Development Grant Program.

Artistic and cultural institutions from the Bank’s 26 borrowing member countries in Latin America and the Caribbean may send their applications for funding through the new online platform before February 28, 2014. This platform will help speed up the process providing a form with a clear design, easy to use and with a higher level of confidence and security for all users.

Over 160 seventh through twelfth grade students at Arthur’s Town High School and Old Bight High School learned about Baha Mar and careers in hospitality. The students also learned about personal branding and the importance of soft skills such as punctuality, reliability and having a pleasant attitude in the workplace.
