The southern borders of The Bahamas continue to be an area of concern for the Royal Bahamas Defence Force as it has stepped up its enforcement initiatives in that area. As a result of this, and shared intelligence, a total of 185 Haitian migrants were apprehended very late Friday evening during a joint operation by the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Operations Bahamas Turks and Caicos (OPBAT - a tripartite agreement between the US, Turks & Caicos and Bahamas) and Turks and Caicos authorities...

The fight against illicit activities received a boost with the official contract signing for The Bahamas Unmanned Aerial System (BUAS) at the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Coral Harbour Base on Monday December 16, 2019.

A couple is happy to be back on land after being rescued earlier Tuesday morning.  

A joint maritime operation between the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Police Force, Operation Bahamas Turks and Caicos Islands (OPBAT), and the United States Coast Guard on Saturday past resulted in the apprehension of 39 Haitian nationals in the southern Bahamas.

Marine Seaman Ashton Williams and Marine Seaman Johnny Rolle of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) were recognized for their outstanding performances and were thus chosen as Marines of the Quarter for the Abaco Deployment Team.

Both men, who are exceptional Marines, are members of the latest squad, New Entry 56 and Woman Entry 25. They were recognized for the period October - December 2019. Sub Lieutenants Antonio Adderley and Tiffilo Johnson are the newest addition to the Officer’s Corp of The Royal Bahamas Defence Force after successfully completing the Officer Candidate School in New London, Connecticut.  To continue its effectiveness in meeting its mandate, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force has committed not only to expanding its overall strength but its cadre of professionally skilled and trained managers to lead the military entity... 

Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) personnel and the staff members stationed at the Cabinet Office are better equipped to render medical assistance to those in need after recently attending a First Aid and CPR Workshop by a member of the RBDF Medical Center.

Fourty-one RBDF Marines were deployed to The Abacos to assist in disaster relief efforts on November 21, 2019. They will complement the RBDF personnel that's already on the ground. The team left aboard RBDF Auxiliary Craft Lawrence Major, under the command of Lieutenant Commander Milton Munroe.
