Approximately 80 Rangers cadets from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Rangers are attending the 4th Annual Rangers Leadership Summer Camp at the R. M. Bailey Senior High School.

The 3-week leadership program is designed to develop character and leadership skills among the high school students currently enrolled in the Rangers program. This year's curriculum will cover three modules. These include: Photo Journalism, Introduction to Foreign Languages, Band Camp and Bread and Pastry Baking...

Saturday 15 June was a  historic day on the island of Exuma, as 38 students for the very first time were inducted into the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s (RBDF) Rangers Program, following a Passing Out Parade ceremony.

The students represented 3 Secondary schools on the island, namely; the L. N. Coakley High School, St. Andrew’s Anglican School and Exuma Christian School. This latest addition in Exuma brings the total to 24 schools in New Providence and 25 schools in the Family Islands.

A joint operation by the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and Operation Bahamas Turks and Caicos with the support of Bahamas Immigration Department resulted in the apprehension of a Haitian sailing vessel with 100 undocumented Haitian nationals on board approximately 30 nautical miles northwest of Inagua around 2:20 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

The OPBAT helicopter spotted the vessel and the Defence Force interceptor stationed in Inagua subsequently apprehended it...

A joint combined operation  between Operation Bahamas Turks and Caicos (OPBAT) HELO, a United States Coast Guard (USCG) Cutter, a USCG aircraft, and two Royal Bahamas Defence Force patrol craft resulted in the arrest of of a motorized wooden vessel that was smuggling undocumented migrants in waters southwest of The Bahamas during the afternoon of Wednesday 12 June 2019.

Information about the suspicious vessel was initially received by the Defence Force Operations Command Center from the United States Coast Guard earlier during the day...

A total of 40 migrants are being detained after they were apprehended in the southern Bahamas on Tuesday morning by members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.

Acting on information received, HMBS Durward Knowles, under the command of Senior Lieutenant Bertram Bowleg, apprehended a 35-ft Haitian sloop off the south coast of Little Inagua Island. A further search of the uninhabited Island and surrounding area led to the apprehension of 34 males and 6 females, who all appeared to be in good health.
