Dr. Darville updates on Omicron containment measures - Dec 30, 2021 - 12:15:51 PM
Minister of Health and Wellness, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville at a
press conference today at the Office of the Prime Minister revealed
measures to contain the spread of the Omicron COVID-19 variant presently
causing a fourth pandemic surge in the community.
The
containment measures include hiring of additional medical personnel;
sourcing of new COVID-19 drugs; acquisition of Grosvenor Close Nursing
Building for an Infectious Diseases ward to regain use of the South

PMH Implements Restrictions as COVID-19 Cases Increase - Dec 29, 2021 - 9:31:03 AM
The Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) has commenced prevention protocols
due to the rapid increase in new COVID-19 cases. Effective Wednesday
29th December, elective surgeries will be suspended, ONLY emergency
procedures will be performed. ONLY gynaecology, orthopaedic, fracture
and hand clinics will be seen in person at the hospital, all other
specialty clinic cases will be conducted via virtual appointments. Patients requiring new appointments or rescheduled appointments should contact the PMH Registration & Scheduling Unit by:

In his address on December 24, 2021, The Prime Minister advised the
nation of the increase in COVID-19 infections in our country and over
the last few days, we have seen sharp increases in persons testing
positive for COVID-19 here at home.
The Omicron variant is the
most highly transmissible COVID variant yet, causing soaring case
numbers across the world. Many countries are seeing exponential growth,
and their highest case counts yet since the start of the pandemic. We
should expect the same here...

The new Little Abaco bridge will safely facilitate the flow of vehicles
between Great and Little Abaco and create new habitats for marine life.

and a team of engineers, viewed the bridge destroyed by Hurricane Dorian
in 2019 and presently under construction.

COVID-19 Travel Risk Advisory Rating Lowered for The Bahamas - Dec 21, 2021 - 5:15:20 PM
The Ministry of Health and Wellness advises the public that the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has lowered the COVID-19 Travel
Risk Advisory Rating for The Bahamas, from Level 3 (high), down to
Level 2 (moderate).
According to the CDC; a level 2 rating
advises international travelers to be fully vaccinated before coming to
The Bahamas. It also advises that unvaccinated travelers who are at
increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19...

Canada's resumption of service to Exuma on Sunday afternoon, December
