The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation has appointed Steven
Johnson as General Manager of Tourism on Grand Bahama Island.
A
veteran sales and marketing professional with over 23 years’ experience
in the tourism and hospitality sector, Johnson brings a wealth of
knowledge in public relations, event planning, marketing, and
advertising to his new post. He joins the Grand Bahama team from Canada
where he served at The Bahamas Tourist Office as Senior Manager for
Business Development.

The Islands Of The Bahamas (TIOTB) stood out this past weekend, taking
part in an annual art show in Fort Lauderdale Florida hosted by Howard
Alan Events. The show took place October 19th-20th on Las Olas Boulevard
with hundreds of exhibitors’ works on display and thousands of
passers-by on foot.
Though this is the second year that TIOTB
have participated, Howard Alan made this year extra special by inviting

The Ministry of Tourism and the Bahamas Hotel Association held the first
annual Cacique Awards in 1996. At this juncture, the long-standing
tourism partners joined their respective awards - the National Tourism
Achievement Awards and the Hotel Industry Awards - to celebrate the
finest in industry.
The 18th Cacique Awards, which celebrates
the brightest and the best in the country’s hospitality industry, will
be held at the Baha Mar Resort Convention Centre on May 23, 2020, under

The sales team of the Bahamas Tourist Office, Florida recently
partnered with John Watling’s, a Bahamian distillery showcasing at the
International Rum Conference 2019, to promote the 14 Bahama Islands

The International Rum Conference,
formerly known as the Congreso del Ron, which moved from Madrid to Coral
Gables, Florida, invited the National Association of The Bahamas (NAB),
a Florida based Bahamian association, to its two-day event, and

Despite the recent passing and devastation of two major islands by
Hurricane Dorian two weeks ago, the country’s Minister of Financial
Services, Trade & Industry and Immigration, the Hon. Elsworth
Johnson, told industry leaders that the country is still ‘open for
business.’

The Vertical Department team of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and
Aviation (MOTA) recently led a group of forty persons comprising private
pilots, flying ambassadors, fixed based operators (FB0) and aviation
media professionals to Freeport, Grand Bahama, for a familiarization
trip of the destination.
The group, made up of representatives
from Florida Aero Club, Stuart Jet Center, ATA Flight School, Jetscape,
Aerospace, Banyan Air Service, Atlantic Aviation and Women in Aviation,
departed from the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, on August 15 and

Florida’s Hot 105 Radio Live Remote Broadcast from Freeport Highlights Bahamas Junkanoo Summer Fest - Aug 14, 2019 - 10:18:28 AM
The Islands Of The Bahamas recently partnered with the Wiggins Agency in
South Florida to host a live remote broadcast from Freeport, Grand
Bahama with S Florida’s Hot 105 FM’S on air personality, James T. Also
partnering in the promotion was Bahamasair, the national flag carrier of
The Bahamas, who recently increased its air loads to Grand Bahama
including jet service from Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
The remote promoted summertime fun in Freeport including the Annual Bahamas Junkanoo Summer Festival.
The broadcast back to S. Florida radio listeners, took place Saturday
from the Pavilion of Freeport’s Grand Lucayan Resort Lighthouse Point.
