Anglers across Florida converged in the settlement of West End, Grand
Bahama on November 21 for the highly anticipated 3rd Annual Old Bahama
Bay Wahoo Charity Cup. For participants, the event was a thrilling
opportunity to sail the beautiful, boundless blue waters of Grand Bahama
Island in hunt for wahoo large enough to earn them the competition’s
top prize and, of course, bragging rights.

island welcomed its first official international flight to the Fixed
Based Operators (FBO) at Grand Bahama International Airport since the

Tourism officials traveled across Canada this past week to promote that it’s
business as usual for The Bahamas.
All but 2 of the 16 major islands are open to tourists despite the

Bahamas Tourism blitz underway in Canada - Nov 19, 2019 - 12:30:59 PM
The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation delegates lead by Minister
of Tourism, the Hon. Dionisio D’Aguilar, as well as numerous industry
partners took media outlets and tour operators in Canada on a whirlwind
tour of the Islands of the Bahamas, solidifying the messaging of the
Bahamas being a viable destination for the Canadian tourists, despite
the impact of Hurricane Dorian.

that it was absolutely critical to come and let the Canadian market know

Despite Dorian, travel to the Caribbean keeps growing - Nov 13, 2019 - 8:38:25 PM
A study, undertaken by ForwardKeys, the travel analytics firm, has
revealed that despite the recent ravages of hurricane Dorian and other
huge storms in the Caribbean, tourism will continue to grow. The results
of the study were presented at a Caribbean Tourism
Organization-organised news conference at World Travel Market this
morning.
Forward bookings for the important winter season, 1st
November to 31st January are currently 1.6% ahead of where they were at
the equivalent point last year.

White Sands Bahamas NCAA Golf Invitational kicks off in Paradise - Nov 5, 2019 - 3:20:04 PM
The inaugural White Sands Bahamas NCAA Invitational, hosted by the
University of Houston and featuring some of the top collegiate golf
teams in the United States, took place over a six day period at
Atlantis’ seaside championship Ocean Club Golf Course on Paradise
Island. The first-of-its-kind tournament fielded a total of 28 teams: 14
women’s teams competing firs,t from Oct. 28-30, followed by 14 men’s
teams playing Nov. 1-3.
As a kick off to the event on Saturday,
Oct. 26, the women’s teams were hosted to a welcome dinner and a day of
practice before the tournament proper.
