Universal Children’s Day to be celebrated in TCI

Turks and Caicos Islands - November 20, 2011 is celebrated around the world as Universal Children’s Day, which is also recognized as World Day of Prayer and Action for Children. 

World Day of Prayer and Action for Children has launched a three year programme under the theme “Stop Violence against Children.”

An invitation is extended to the community of Grand Turk to participate in a three-day weekend of events in celebration of Universal Children’s Day.
Friday 18th November 2011.

Morning Devotions at schools highlighting “The Rights of a Child.” Teachers are encouraged to include the theme “Stop Violence against Children” by talking about ways and places/environments where children experience violence.

“Evening of Fellowship” at Grand Turk Parade Grounds at 6:30pm. Come and celebrate our children and youth through fellowship and prayer. Light refreshments will be served after.

Saturday 19th November 2011

Parents “Treat-A- Child (ren) Day”: do something extra special for your child (ren) more than usual

Teen Jam @10 am with Mr. Temad and Ms. Renate
Guest presenter: Social Worker from The Department of Social Development

Sunday 20th November 2011

World Day of Prayer and Action for Children observed at all churches
Pastors will incorporate into sermon the theme “Stop Violence against Children.”

Youth and Children will participate in their church service
