Nassau, Bahamas - Dancer, Jewel Smith talks about her upcoming event to be held on Thursday,  August 20th at the Bambu Lounge:  I wanted to host this event, simply because we have some unbelievable talent in the Arts, here in the Bahamas, and this talent needs to be recognized.

I want this evening to be an event where the Bahamian public can meet these artists up close and personal, and have a chance to mix, mingle and network with them.

I've been in the artist's community my entire life, having been exposed to the arts by my father, acclaimed poet, Obediah Smith, who's been upholded as one of the finest writers in the country.  Through my father, I developed a great love and appreciation for all aspects of the arts.

I grew-up as a dancer, with a love for hair styling, fashion design, writing photography and sculpting.

The new generation of Bahamian artists featured here, are at the pinnacle of their fields, taking their craft to a new level at home, and on the International scene.  I wanted to showcase and encourage them in their work.

This event is for the Bahamian public to celebrate the incredible talent that we have here at home.

During the evening, you will be the FIRST to view the world premier music video “Animal”  by Puzzle.  With this opportunity, I encourage everyone to come out and support the arts.
