Queen (Ashley Simmons, 14), The King (Devano Ferguson, 16), Princess (Tempest Armbrister, 12) with the Cruel Stepmother (Veronica Dorsett, 14), Evil Stepsisters Rachael Russell, 12, and Katrina Dorsett, 10

Twinderella was a delightful, hilarious, and musical family tale!  Like the magic of the Fairy Godmother (and in this show, include the Godfather too);  directors Jackie Dack and Kim Gration pulled off what most people would think the impossible - that is putting on a full theatre show in only 7 DAYS! And add to that the cast is made up of entirely of children - 36 of them!

Stealing the show was Veronica Dorsett, aged 14 years, who plays the Cruel Stepmother. Her talent shines like the blazing sun, and it is not surprising that she is the younger sister to Olivia Dorsett of That's Chicago fame.

Another outstanding performance was put on by little Aston Clemson, 10 years old (you saw him in The Music Man) as he played Mortimer, one of the Cruel brothers. His delightful British accent, sweet demeanor (while playing tough) and robust actions, as he demanded his brother Bob get on to "alphabetizing his slugs" made my heart go to mush...

The show was almost modern-day Cinderella with loads of twists, sarcasm, humour, song and even a U.P.S. Man!

As a parent of two of the R.A.T.S. students and actors in the play, I do know what the children went through to pull off this amazing feat!  At first we thought the directors were out of their minds to even think to attempt this.  There were many grumbles from my children in the first week! But by week two, after much direction and movement forward (no other choice when you have a show to do!) my children were feeling very confident and proud of their achievements as each day progressed - and mostly excited for their upcoming performances!

The theatre attendance was very good for an opening night in the midst of the summer holidays!

I only wish they could do an encore performance for those that had to miss it....but now it is time for us to attend other summer camps and allow our other vacation plans to unfold.

If you are one of the lucky ones who got to see this show, you know you were treated to as-close-to-professional acting as amateur theatre can get!

My hat is off to the 36 children (and the directors) who pulled out their best and delivered an amazingly entertaining show in only 7 days!
