Do you know any 10 to 16 year olds who would love the
opportunity to go to Theatre School for two weeks this summer?  The team
that brought That's Chicago to the Regency Theatre last year has now created
a two week Theatre School for 32 teenagers of Grand Bahama.  The school will present two public performances of the funny show, Twinderella, on July 13th
and 14th, 2007.

Please note that spaces are limited and we anticipate they will go quite
quickly.
Please forward this to anyone you think may be interested.

Aims:

The summer school will cover all aspects of theatre arts including but not
exclusively; performing, (drama, music and dance), technical aspects,
production, direction, promotion and theatre management.   Participants
will also learn many personal life skills such as self discipline, importance
of team work, communication on various levels, timing, respect of others
and property.

The final part of the course will be two public performances of Twinderella .
Every student will have some part in the cast or crew of the show. We will
strive for excellence in every aspect of the production.

Dates:

Monday 2nd to Saturday 14th July 2007.  Students must attend every day (Monday to Friday of week one and Monday to Saturday of week two) and must also be available for a few additional rehearsals and production needs during week two if necessary.

Time keeping and attendance:

The two-week course is intensive and thoroughly integrated. Any time missed will adversely affect how much benefit the student receives from the experience.    Additionally, all students MUST be present for all rehearsals, (Including night rehearsals) and shows with no exceptions. Failure to attend can detrimentally affect the experience for everyone. Every child will have an important role and be an integral part of the team.

Refreshments and Lunch:

Water and snacks provided. Student to bring own lunch and additional drinks.    No eating or drinking in the auditorium.

Cost:

$290 per student.

Non-refundable deposit: $150.

All applications and deposits to be handed in to GB Fitness, East Atlantic Drive (off East Sunrise Highway) 352-7867. Open from 5am to 9pm.

Cheques made payable to Freeport Players' Guild.

*Some organisations in Grand Bahama may be willing to sponsor, in part or whole, a child who is particularly interested in the course but does not have the funds to support them.  If you want to know more check the website.

Placement:

Places will be given on a first come, first served basis.   We have a limit of 32 places.

Attitude and discipline:

It is expected that students are focused, willing, capable of learning and working towards attaining and displaying new and exciting skills.     Inappropriate behaviour and attitudes shown towards staff, other students or the property will not be accepted.

Communication:

Some e-mails will be relevant to the parent and some to the student.   However, all e-mails will be sent to both addresses where appropriate.   Make sure these e-mail addresses are checked daily and thoroughly for e-mails regarding the summer school.

Liability:

The theatre can be a dangerous place and we accept no responsibility for a child who does not adhere to the rules, instructions and common sense.
