Dermal
Distributions, the exclusive distributor of Dermalogica for the Bahamas
& Caribbean, is excited to be a participant in
the Bahamas International Film Festival, December 6 – 9, 2012.
Dermalogica
is first and foremost an education company, and secondly the
most-requested professional skin care product line in the world. They
offer both a professional line and a complementary retail line for the
skin care client to use at home between professional treatments.
Dermalogica began with the core “grey” line, which is for all, skin
types but then went on to develop various segments that addresses
specific skin concerns. Among the most successful of these
skin systems are AGE Smart (for aging skin) MediBac Clearing (an adult
acne line), ChromaWhite Trx (targets hyper-pigmentation), and SHAVE (a
line that caters specifically to men’s skincare needs).
Dermalogica
has a scientific, results-oriented approach, which separates it from
the majority of skin care companies, which promote beauty, luxury,
pampering and indulgence. The line was initially developed for the
treatment room with Skin Health in mind, and is considered a leading
pioneer in creating skin care formulas, which are free of artificial
colors, artificial fragrance, and common irritants.
Dermalogica,
the number one choice of skin care professionals, is part of a new
global initiative that will extend microloans to 25,000 women worldwide
through FITE, the acronym for Financial Independence Through
Entrepreneurship. This philanthropic initiative is the latest expression
of the Dermalogica brand’s legacy of empowering women, based upon the
business model created by skin therapist and Founder Jane Wurwand. The
concept arises from Dermalogica’s quarter-century investment in the
financial independence of women, one woman at a time. The overwhelming
worldwide majority of professional skin therapists, estimated at 98 per
cent, are women. Their clientele is also predominately female, estimated
at 92 per cent.
FITE
draws upon this heritage of empowerment through the provision of global
microloans to women entrepreneurs who otherwise would not have access
to capital or credit. Dermalogica has partnered with the non-profit
microfinance leader Kiva.org to help facilitate the loans through a
unique website – www.joinfite.org, and connect with women entrepreneurs in more than 50 countries worldwide.
The
FITE platform will be shared with the Dermalogica tribe, including
consumers, at every level, in over 86 countries where Dermalogica is
sold. The initiative will first become visible to consumers through
special FITE-themed packaging for retail sizes of the brand’s
best-selling products. When the consumer goes online and enters the
special numeric code printed on the FITE sleeve packaging, Dermalogica
will contribute $1 USD toward the microloan for a specified, qualified
recipient. Consumers may choose the world-region as well as the
particular type of industry, which they wish to support with their
purchases, and will be able to track the ongoing business activity of
the specified woman entrepreneur, including the repayment of the loan.
The
Dermalogica line is available where professional skin treatments are
offered and professionally trained therapists can customize a prescribed
home care regimen. Dermalogica’s uniquely prescriptive approach is
based upon an in-depth analysis of the client’s skin called Face Mapping
wherever Dermalogica treatments and products are sold. For more

About Dermalogica®
Dermalogica® revolutionized the skin care industry when it emerged
into the marketplace in 1986 with innovative formulations, which
excluded common irritants, including SD alcohol, lanolin, mineral oil
and artificial colors and fragrances. Jane Wurwand developed the
products to better support the advanced curriculum she had developed a
few years earlier for The International Dermal Institute, which she also
founded. Today, Dermalogica is the world’s most-requested professional
skin care brand.
About FITE
Over the last 25 years, Dermalogica has been a leader in the skin care
industry and helped more than 100,000 women around the world become
successful entrepreneurs – as skin therapists and salon owners.
Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship (F.I.T.E), is an
unprecedented partnership between Dermalogica and Kiva.org to provide
women entrepreneurs in the developing world access to small loans that
will help them start or grow a business. FITE will give thousands of
women entrepreneurs from around the world a hand up instead of a hand
out. www.joinfite.org
