Jordan Walker Pearlman to lead BIFF Master Class in Directing‏

Nassau, Bahamas - The eight edition of the Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) is set for December 1st to 4th, 2011 in Nassau. BIFF is pleased to announce that director, screenwriter, producer, Jordan Walker Pearlman will be giving a Master Class in Directing on Sunday, December 4th from 1:30 to 4:30pm.

Raised in New York City, Jordan is the co-principal of the Production Company CinEssence of which he is President and has been the Director-Screenwriter-Producer, and for several Internet and Broadway ventures. Jordan was exposed to the movies as a child through his Uncle, actor Gene Wilder (Young Frankenstein, Willy Wonka, Stir Crazy). Later Jordan was mentored by the Actor/Director Sidney Poitier. As a teenager Jordan made short films for the budding children’s network Nickelodeon. Jordan returned to make the feature documentary SNOW TAXI about the worldwide Snow Boarding phenomenon. Jordan’s feature film debut as Director-Writer-Producer, THE VISIT, was nominated for four Independent Spirit awards (two for directing and screenplay) and won the National Board Of Review Freedom of Expression award. It also won and was nominated for multiple NAACP Image and other Festival Awards for its performances by Hill Harper, Billy Dee Williams, Marla Gibbs, and Obba Babatunde. Jordan’s next feature as Producer, was THE SIMIAN LINE, the Linda Yellen directed feature starring Harry Connick Jr, Lynn Redgrave, and William Hurt. 20th Century Fox and Codeblack Entertainment released in theaters Jordan’s 2007 (Director, Writer, Producer) CONSTELLATION, starring among others Gabrielle Union, Zoe Saldana, Lesley Ann Warren, and Hill Harper. Jordan Walker- Pearlman upcoming projects are the Broadway musical BRICKTOP, of which Jordan is one of the Producers followed by his next feature drama-adventure DAWANA, tells a story of America and Africa through the eyes of a young female Diplomat. www.CinEssence.com

    * All directors, screenwriters, actors are welcome
    * 3 Hours intensive demonstration
    * Learn the nuts and bolts and listen to all the personal anecdotes of a filmmakers career
    * Participate in Scene Studies with a camera and actors (studio setting)
    * Question and Answer Session

* Showcase of THE VISIT, Directed, Written and Produced by Jordan Walker-Pearlman prior to the Master Class (TBD)
