NASSAU, The Bahamas -- (July 3) Bahamians enjoyed the Sunday
afternoon Beat Retreat downtown that launched the week of Bahamas 44th
Independence Celebrations to the theme, "Toward the Rising Sun: One God,
One People, One Bahamas."

Marguerite Pindling, Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Hubert Minnis and Mrs.
Minnis attended and are pictured viewing the parade. National Pride Day
-- a day of ceremony, music, food, and fun will take place this Friday, July 7, in Rawson and Parliament Squares, from 10:00 a.m. into the night.
The traditional Grand Anniversary Celebrations will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 9,
at Clifford Park with Bands, Ecumenical Service, March Past, and
Cultural Show, leading up to Flag Raising, and followed by a Junkanoo
Rush in the earliest hours of July 10, Independence Day. (BIS Photos)
