Bahamas Ambassador to Cuba safe after aircraft incident

Nassau, Bahamas - The following is a statement by the Hon. Fred Mitchell Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration:

I wish to advise the public that HE Alma Adams, Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba, was a passenger on a Cubana aircraft involved in an incident upon landing in Havana, Cuba this afternoon amid inclement weather.

The aircraft suffered a blown tire upon landing and veered off the runway before coming to a complete stop. All passengers are reported safe and there were no injuries.
