The Bahamas Industrial Tribunal will host the following events in November 2021:
(1) Virtual Opening of the Legal Year in New Providence and Freeport, Grand Bahama – Thursday, 11th November 2021 at 11:30 a.m.
(2) Virtual Symposium – “The Inaugural J. Barrie Farrington International Symposium on Excellence in Industrial and Labour Relations” – Friday, 12th November 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
About the Opening
The Opening of the Legal Year is historically held to formally mark the beginning of the year and for the President of the Industrial Tribunal to address the Bahamian public on the performance of the Tribunal over the past year and on other related matters.
About the Symposium
The Symposium is intended to shine the spotlight on leadership considerations, digital transformation and the evolving industrial and labour relations landscape.
Featured Speakers will include leading jurists around the region, including the Honourable Justice Adrian Saunders, President of the Caribbean Court of Justice; the Right Honourable Sir Dennis Byron, Chairman of the Commonwealth Education Council; the Honourable Michelle Arana, Acting Chief Justice of Belize and Deborah Thomas-Felix, President of the Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago.
