British High Commissioner expresses UK's likely support of Local Blue Economy and Agri-Tech Development

Nassau, The Bahamas - British High Commissioner Her Excellency Sarah Dickson paid a courtesy call on Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources, the Hon. Michael Pintard, January 15, 2020.
During the meeting, Minister Pintard stated his approval of a regional project that would develop a Blue Economy in The Bahamas.
Additionally, Minister Pintard discussed the need for a marine resource strategic plan that would help in the government’s objective to highlight the value of mangroves and coral reefs.
Her Excellency Dickson shared the likely support of the United Kingdom on initiatives such as the Blue Economy, marine vulnerabilities, and agri-tech.
She also stated the UK's interest in the work of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in The Bahamas.
Her Excellency noted that the UK would be willing to assist the Bahamas in areas such as scholarships, long term exchange programs, and partnerships with scientists that would facilitate small projects and assist with Tech Incubator Projects.
