Nassau, The Bahamas - The Department of Labour is now able to
service clients digitally, Senator, Hon. Dion
Foulkes stated as he described the department's modernization in his
contribution to the 2021/2022 budget debate in the
Senate. “I am happy to report that the Department of Labour is
modernizing its accounting systems. In fact on 1 June, 2021,
the department launched its first Digi Pay Cashless system," he said.
The new
system will process notification of vacancy applications along with
union registration fees and union costing matters. It now allows the
department to accept company cheques or
credit/debit cards online through the Digi Pay platform and cash at
third party vendors, Cash and Go, Suncard and OMNI Finance Group. The
Senator remarked the system looks promising for the department. (BIS
