The United Workers Party would like to congratulate Prime Minister Allen Chastanet for being a true leader when he took the COVID-19 vaccine yesterday.  In demonstrating his willingness to receive one of the first doses along with his wife Raquel DuBoulay-Chastanet, he demonstrated his dedication to the people of Saint Lucia by leading from the front.

In this world where many conspiracy theories and fake news have surrounded the discussion pertaining to the COVID-19 vaccines, it was important for Prime Minister Chastanet and other essential services leaders to dispel any rumours and show their willingness to take the vaccine.

Kudos also to the Minister of Health, Hon. Mary Isaac, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sharon Belmar-George, former CMO Dr. Stephen King, President of the Saint Lucia Medical and Dental Association, Dr. Merle Clarke, and all the other police, fire, and government personnel who also joined the prime minister in showing all Saint Lucians there is nothing to fear about the vaccine.
