General Situation:  Surface high pressure system over the Eastern United States will provide mostly pleasant, breezy, and mild conditions across the Bahamas on Thursday, gradually shifting eastward into the Western Atlantic Ocean through the weekend. Another cold front will move across South Florida early Sunday and continue south-eastwards across the NW Bahamas as high pressure system gradually build in its wake. The cold front will move through the Central Bahamas on Monday through Tuesday and becoming stationary across the SE Bahamas on Wednesday.

Thursday 21st– Variably cloudy, a bit breezy and mild with the slight chance of few passing showers during the daytime. Partly cloudy to fair skies and breezy at night with the slight chance of few passing showers. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 69°F. Small craft should exercise caution across the entire Bahamas but building to an advisory in the SE Bahamas late. Winds NE to E at 15 to 20 knots with stronger gusts in the Bahamas, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots by afternoon; NE to E early, but increasing to 15 to 20 knots later in the NW Bahamas and NNE to ENE at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, increasing to 15 to 25 knots in the SE Bahamas late. Seas 3 to 5 feet in the NW Bahamas, building to 4 to 6 feet later and 4 to 6 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas, building to 5 to 8 feet in the SE Bahamas late.

Friday 22nd –
Variably cloudy, breezy and warm with the slight chance of isolated passing showers during the daytime. Cloudy periods and mild with the slight chance of passing showers. Maximum temperature 81°F and minimum temperature 70°F. Small craft should continue to exercise caution in the NW Bahamas through early afternoon and advisory for the Central and SE Bahamas, decreasing to a caution later. Winds NE to E at 15 to 20 knots with stronger gusts in the NW Bahamas, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots by afternoon; NE to E at 15 to 25 knots in the Central Bahamas, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots by afternoon and NE to E at 15 to 25 knots in the SE Bahamas, decreasing to 15 to 20 knots late. Seas 4 to 6 feet in the NW Bahamas, falling to 2 to 4 feet later; 5 to 8 feet in the Central Bahamas, falling to 2 to 4 feet later and 5 to 8 feet in the SE Bahamas, falling to 4 to 6 feet later. Seas slightly higher in moderate to light NE’ly to E’ly swells across the entire Bahamas.

Saturday 23rd – Partly cloudy to cloudy, a bit breezy and warm with few passing showers likely. Partly cloudy to fair skies and mild with the chance of few passing showers at night. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft should exercise caution in the SE Bahamas and parts of the Central Bahamas. Winds E’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas; E’ly at 15 to 20 knots over the Central Bahamas, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots at times and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas; 4 to 6 feet in parts of the Central Bahamas, falling to 2 to 4 feet at times and 4 to 6 feet in the SE Bahamas but slightly higher in diminishing moderate to light NE’ly to E’ly swells across the entire Bahamas.

Sunday 24th– Partly sunny and warm with few passing scattered showers mainly across the NW and Central Bahamas during the daytime. Partly cloudy to fair skies and mild at night with lingering scattered showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm. Maximum temperature 85°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Winds E to SE veering SW to W at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas; ESE to SSE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central Bahamas and E’ly at 12 to 18 knots in the SE Bahamas, falling light and variable at times over all areas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas and 3 to 5 feet in the SE Bahamas, falling to 1 to 3 feet at times across all areas in light NE’ly to E’ly swells.


Monday 25th– Partly to mostly sunny and warm with some scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly across the NW Bahamas during the daytime. Partly cloudy to fair skies and cool at night with the chance of few lingering showers. Maximum temperature 82°F and a minimum temperature 67°F. Winds variable at 10 knots or less across the NW and Central Bahamas, becoming NE’ly at 10 to 15 knots at times and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots with stronger gusts in the SE Bahamas. Seas 1 to 3 feet across the NW and Central Bahamas, becoming 2 to 4 feet at times and 2 to 4 feet in the SE Bahamas, becoming higher in gusts.

Tuesday 26th– Party to mostly sunny and warm with few passing showers likely mainly in the NW and Central Bahamas during the daytime. Mostly fair to clear skies and cool at night with the slight chance of a shower. Maximum temperature 83°F and a minimum temperature 69°F. Winds E’ly at 10 to 15 knots across the NW and Central Bahamas increasing to 15 to 20 knots later and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots early, increasing to 15 to 20 knots later in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the entire Bahamas early, but building to 4 to 6 feet across all areas later.

Wednesday 27th – Partly to mostly sunny and warm with few passing showers likely. Partly cloudy to fair skies and warm with the chance of a passing showers at night. Maximum temperature 85°F and minimum temperature 73°F. Small craft should continue to exercise caution across the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds variable at 10 knots or less over the entire Bahamas, becoming more NE to E at 10 to 15 knots at times later.  Seas 1 to 3 feet over the entire Bahamas, building to 2 to 4 feet at times later.

Beachgoers and mariners should be vigilant for rough surf and the moderate to high risk of dangerous rip currents mainly along the north and east coast beaches during the stated advisories. Mariners should exercise caution for gusty winds and higher seas during heavy showers or strong to severe thunderstorms. Mariners should also be alert for waterspout activity during the daytime through nightfall across all areas. Localized flooding during heavy downpours across low lying and flood prone areas is expected.
