DENSE FOG ADVISORY ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY AT 5:55AM EST, MONDAY, 8TH FEBRUARY, 2021.
…A DENSE FOG ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR GRAND BAHAMA, ABACO, ANDROS, THE BERRY ISLANDS, NORTH AND CENTRAL ELEUTHERA AND ADJACENT WATERS.
DENSE FOG IS OCCURRING ACROSS THE ABOVE MENTIONED ISLANDS AND AREAS. LOW VISIBILITY WILL MAKE DRIVING AND BOATING DIFFICULT. THE DENSE FOG WILL REDUCE VISIBILITY TO ONE NAUTICAL MILE OR LESS WITH LOCALIZED AREAS EXPERIENCING REDUCED VISIBILITIES OF LESS THAN ONE-HALF MILES AT TIMES.
DRIVERS ARE ADVISED TO DRIVE WITH EXTREME CAUTION WHILE ON THE ROADS AND USE HEADLIGHTS AND FOG LIGHTS. YOU ARE ALSO URGED TO LEAVE EXTRA DISTANCE BETWEEN YOUR VEHICLE AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. BOATERS SHOULD AVOID OPERATING IN THESE CONDITIONS.
FOG WILL LIKELY PERSIST INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS AND SHOULD BURN OFF AS THE SUN RISES THIS MORNING.
