Grand Bahama police arrest 2 American women boarding vessel with suspected heroin

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Two Americans females a 22 year old and a 30 year old are in police custody after they were arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs.

Reports are that on Thursday 15th May 2014 shortly after 11:00am, two American females who were preparing to board a vessel at the Freeport, Harbour were routinely searched by security officers at the Freeport, Harbour, where they discovered on one of the females two clear plastic wrap packages of suspected heroin strapped to her body. Police were notified and both females were arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs with Intent to Supply.

The estimated weights of the drugs are 1.4 lbs and its estimated street value is $50,000 (fifty thousand dollars).

They are expected to be charged and arraigned before the Magistrate Court.
