This afternoon, Monday 19th December, 2011, officers at the Central Detective Unit are continuing their investigations into an armed robbery that occurred this morning in the Royal Bahamia Estates area of Freeport.

At 9:27am this morning plain clothes and uniformed officers responded to a call at Dominica Avenue where two (2) masked men armed with a handgun robbed an adult male of his vehicle. The victim, a 31 year old male, reported that at 9:25am he had just arrived home when he was approached by the culprits, one armed with a handgun who demanded the keys to his vehicle, a 1995 dark purple Nissan Skyline car plate # 52058. The armed men got into his vehicle which is valued at $34,000.00 and fled the scene.

He described one of the men as being 6’1” tall, dark complexion, slim built wearing a blue and white long sleeve shirt and long blue jeans pants and wore a blue mask that covered his face. The second man was described as 6’1” tall, heavy built, dark complexion and dressed in all black clothing with a black mask covering his face.

We (the police) are appealing to residents and motorists who were in the area of Dominica Avenue at the time of the incident to call in at 350-3107/8, 352-9774/5 or 911 with any information they may have regarding this latest armed robbery or any other matter that is being investigated by the police.
