RBPF Grand Bahama: Possession of Dangerous Drugs Arrest

Two males are in police custody after they were found in
possession of dangerous drugs.

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Reports are that on Monday 1st July 2019 shortly after 9:00pm, officers of the Rapid Response Unit, while on routine patrol in the area of East Sunrise Highway and Seahorse Road, attempted to pull over a grey Honda Accord as a result of a traffic infraction. The vehicle refused to stop and officers observed a container being thrown out of the vehicle and retrieve the item, where it was discovered to contain suspected marijuana. The vehicle was pulled over and two males both of Freeport, Grand Bahama were arrested.

The container contained (268) packages of suspected marijuana, weighing an estimated 1.16 pounds with a street value of over one thousand dollars. Officers also confiscated $625.00 cash in Bahamian and American currency as a result of criminal proceeds.

Investigation continues.
