RBPF Grand Bahama: Suspect arraigned on two counts of Attempted Murder

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Shawn Saunders age 47 years of #36 Perth Lane, South Bahamia, was arraigned on Thursday 23rd May 2019, before Deputy Chief Magistrate Debbye Ferguson in Magistrate Court #1, on (2) counts of Attempted Murder. He was not required to enter a plea, the matter was adjourned to the 5th September 2019 for trial. Bail was denied and he was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until trial.

This is in connection to the incident reported to police on Saturday 18th May 2019.

Excellent Police work by Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit, Rapid Response and Mobile Division, resulted in significant arrests on Wednesday 22nd May 2019.

In the first incident, Officers of the Mobile Division took (6) persons into custody for matters pertaining to drug possession, illegal migrant, and outstanding warrants of arrest (WOA) issued by the Magistrate Court.

In the second incident, Officers of the Rapid Response Unit, took into police custody, two suspects in connection to Murder.

In the third incident, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit, on Wednesday 22nd May 2019 shortly after 8:00pm, while armed with a search warrant, went to a residence on Glencoe Circle, where they uncovered 1.5 lbs. of suspected marijuana with a street value of $1,500.00 and (1) Glock pistol with (19) .9mm ammunition. (5) Five suspects all male were arrested and taken into police custody.
