On July 24th, 2011 Kerel
Pinder was crowned Miss Bahamas Earth 2011. This afforded Kerel the
chance to travel to the Miss Earth Pageant where she will compete with
women from over (80) eighty different countries from around the world.
The Miss Earth pageant is one of the (4) four most recognized pageants
around the world along with the Miss Universe and Miss World pageants.
In two days Kerel will leave Miami to travel to the Philippines, in
hopes to leave her mark on the international stage. The Miss Earth pageant
has been in existence from 2001. In 2006 Leandra Pratt did The Bahamas
proud when she made history as the only Bahamian woman to make the Top
15 at the Miss Earth pageant. Kerel hopes to follow in her footsteps
as she travels to compete.
Miss Bahamas Earth realizes that none
of this would have been possible without her faithful sponsors. In
order for a Queen to represent her country well, she must ALWAYS dress
to impress, these companies saw that need and did their best to make
sure their Queen stepped out in style. Along with the Miss Bahamas Beauty
Organization under the direction of Gaynell Rolle, a lot of local companies
in Grand Bahama and a boutique in New Providence came on board to show
their support in a big way. They donated cocktail dresses, day wear,
accessories, Auction gifts, hair products, shoes, marketing and monetary
donations.
